Burke Lectureship: Marjorie Suchocki

First Aired: 12/16/2003

Many films, like religions, depict fundamental flaws in the human condition - greed, violence, failed relationships, loss of faith - and employ dramatic devices to shape some of form of resolution to these conflicts. Marjorie Suchocki, of the Claremont School of Theology, uses the contemporary films 25th Hour, Unforgiven and Mystic River to illustrate this interplay between the secular and the divine, and how the film artists' vision offers possibilities for interfaith dialogue.
